There are a lot of fun activities and ways to be involved at CCA! In early August, we have a "Clean and Shine Day" followed by a back to school cookout. Clean and Shine Day is a volunteer opportunity for families to prepare the school for the students' arrival. The cookout is for everyone who wants to come and enjoy fellowship and free food!
The first weekend in October, CCA participates in Biblesta. Biblesta is a biblically based parade that takes place in Humboldt, KS. It is the only Bible themed parade still running in the US. We are proud to be able to create a float and host a food both yearly. This also generates a profit for the school! We are always in need of people to volunteer to run the food booth, bake desserts, and help with the float.
In November and December, the school partners with FireEscape Coffeehouse for our fall fundraiser. The FireEscape is a Christian coffeehouse and radio station serving our community, specifically youth-aged kids. The coffeehouse has always supported Chanute Christian Academy and this fundraiser is monetarily beneficial to both us and them. Thank you Mark and Marilyn Harms and Cain and Karen Coulton for your continuous support and this fundraising opportunity.
Parents in Action Committee (PAC) is a group that fellowships with parents and grandparents while organizing and discussing ways to bless the school. If you have ideas that you would love to talk about or questions or suggestions, this is the opportunity for you! PAC is much like PTF. It is not required, but all are welcome. They meet every other month in the school gym. Check the school calendar for PAC meeting dates!
All year long, CCA collects G&W grocery receipts and Best Choice labels. This is an easy way for our school to receive money. Receipts and labels can be dropped off in the school kitchen any time. We also encourage everyone to use AmazonSmile when they are shopping online. Just set your charity to "Chanute Christian Academy" and shop away!
Parents are grandparents are welcome to eat with their students in our cafeteria any day of the week. Please note that CCA does NOT offer hot lunches. A packed lunch must be brought. The lunch schedule is as follows:
K4, K5, 1st, 2nd- 11:30-11:50am
3rd, 4th- 11:50-12:10pm
7th-12th- 12:10-12:30pm
5th, 6th- 12:30-12:50pm
